Speaking in the commemoration ceremony of General Soleimani in Kabul University on Saturday, Shafaei said that the general was the sincere defender of Islam all across the region, including Syria, Iraq, Palestine, and Afghanistan.
Soleimani strongly stood against the US and foiled its plans for the Middle East region, he said, adding that his goals must be pursued.
Rafe Mosaddeq, another Kabul University lecturer, also addressed the ceremony and said that the US assassination of General Soleimani was against international law.
Several other scholars and officials, including former Afghan MP Mohammad Ali Akhlaqi, praised General Soleimani's character and his role in defending the region against the US.
General Soleimani and former Iraqi Mobilization Unit Forces commander Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis along with eight other companions were assassinated by the US army in a terrorist drone attack on January 3, 2020.
